How to add Course Certificates

Hello, and welcome to eLeaP. In this quick video we’re going to show you how to create and deploy completion certificates for your courses. The first thing I’ll do is navigate to “courses” in the main menu, and then I’ll select the course that I’d like to create a certificate for. From here, on the “manage courses” page, I’ll select the setting sub-tab.

Next, I’ll click this button to add and format a completion certificate. Now here I can change the design and content for my certificate. If I’d like to set my own background image, I can click this link here, and then I can choose a file from my computer and select “upload file” to use that image instead.

For now, I’ll just use the current image that I have here. I’ll click cancel. I can also change the paper format by selecting a different option from this drop-down, and I can modify the orientation by selecting a different option from this drop-down here. Once again, I’m going to leave this as it is. You’ll notice on the right-hand side, I have several different fields that I can add to this template.

Currently, you’ll see that in this certificate, I have the trainee field, the course name, and the certificate release date down here. I can change the formatting for any of these fields on the template simply by editing the options available here. For example, if I’d like to make this trainee name field center-justified, I simply need to select that from the drop-down here, and then I can also make this field bold, change the font size if desired, and even edit the color using this color picker here.

So you see, with just a few quick clicks, I can change the general appearance of the field within the template. The great thing about using this certificate template, is that this is going to automatically fill the trainee’s name in here. It’s not going to display as “trainee name” whenever the actual person receives the certificate. It’s going to display with their name, but it’s going to be bolded and colored this blue because I’ve changed that template layout format here.

While I’m at it, I’ll make a few formatting changes to the course name section as well. Next, I’ll click and drag the certificate release date option here, just to make sure that lines up right over the completion date slot in this template background. Before I finish, I’ll go ahead and add another field to the template. You’ll notice on the right-hand side we have several different fields that can be added. Like the trainee name, instructor name, course name, and so on.

In this case, I’ll add in the instructor name since that’s a field that’s not currently on the certificate. I’ll click this link, and then I’ll select this new field box, and drag this down to the corner here. I’ll select “C” from this drop-down to have it center-justified and then I’ll also increase the font size and change the color to make that stand out a bit more. Now, I’ll click and drag this field down here a bit, and center it right over the president name here.

Lastly, as I scroll down the page, I can choose whether or not this certificate template is ready for download, and then I can also choose when to release the certificate for this course. If I’d like to get a pdf preview of the certificate, I can click the “preview” button here and then I can click “save” to incorporate my changes. Also, keep in mind, that once you’ve created a certificate for an individual course, you can import that certificate by using this “replace with certificate” from drop-down menu, and choosing the course that you’d like to import the certificate from, and then selecting replace.
