In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to assign courses. It is actually quite simple. From my courses list here, I can just click on a course. So, Essentials V2. And because this is the stats view, I can either use that option or I can go over to manage course—it’s your choice. Similarly, if you were in the courses listing and you want to go straight to the manage view, you can certainly just use the edit option here and that takes you to that section. You’ve got multiple options here. So if you are in the stats view, don’t worry about it. On the left side, you’ll still see the assignment option here. If you’re in the manage view, don’t worry about it. On the left side, you’ll see the assigned options here. So we click on this option here and it basically says you have no users, click to assign users. (00:49) You can use this link or you can use this button—your call. Now, once you come up to this page, you have several ways to filter, so you can bring up users by name. So I’ll just type in some characters here and see if I can bring up some users. So that’s an option here. You can also bring up users by the different roles. So if let’s say you’ve got your roles feature established, you can utilize that option, senior managers or senior managers, and you can bring that option up. Alright, so it gives you another way to bring selections up. You can use the level. So let’s say I need all trainees. And again, you bring that option up. Using that option, you can actually use the user group option to sub filter. So for example, I can say, look, I don’t want to assign to everybody in Louisville, but I do want to have that list brought up and then I can make my decision based on that. (01:44) So that is basically using the user group option. There you can use a course. So what that basically means is you can say, look, this is a lookalike course and I want to use their existing assignment from a previous course to be able to assign to the same group of users, if you will. So if, let’s say I bring up this course here, Security Awareness Checklist. Apparently, I don’t have any courses here with that designation. Let me see, I can bring up another cybersecurity. Alright, so Cybersecurity Essentials, filter that. Alright, so I have one user here that is a trainee. I think that’s part of the reason I’m getting. Here we go. Alright, so I do have one user here, and basically what that means is I can utilize this option to be able to basically do my assignment. The other thing I can do is I can use the status, excuse me, I’m going to go ahead and start this again. I can use the status of the users. Are they active or inactive in the system? If I want only active users, I can use that selection. And at this point, you simply can check the box at the top here. You can also select individuals here to assign. And once you (02:58) Click, these are the users that are currently assigned. Now I’m not done yet. I’m going to go ahead and attempt another type of assignment utilizing custom fields. So custom fields are fields that you create. So for example, I can say bring me all users in my Louisville location. If you have several different locations in your organization, you can utilize custom fields and be able to segment your list by those custom fields. So just see how granular eLeaP is and how comprehensive or robust it is to give you all of these options. I can also go to user groups. So on the left I am going to click on the user groups option and I can either again click on the button or the link and it now brings up user groups. So again, I can use the user group option, select whichever user group I want to assign to, and boom, I can assign it to them just like, so this is assignment within the course. (03:52) Now we do know that you can combine courses into learning paths. We have a video about that. You also have another option where you can use what we call smart assigning. So if I go to my user step and go over to smart assigning, I can basically create a rule that says that, hey, if you are in the third shift, I’m using that as an example of your sleep, but you get to create your own rules, then I’m going to map you to this particular course or that particular path and what have you. So you basically can now create a series of rule-based assignments that are automated and you don’t have to continue to manually do this. The system would actually execute on your behalf every time it encounters somebody that meets that particular criteria. So these are the ways that you can assign courses in the system.
