Multi Page Record Selector

Hello and welcome to eLeaP. In this tutorial, we are looking at the multi-select option that helps you to build ad hoc list for different purposes in the system.

So typically what happens is when you have actions that you want to perform, that involves either filtering, selecting users or other records, there might be scenarios where you will need to go across multiple pages. In the eLeaP system, for example, we display 20 records at a time. If, let’s say, I need to assign more people, and those folks are in say, the second, third, and fourth pages, how do I do that? Well, this is how you do that.

You can go through the pagination option here to essentially be able to create what we call an ad hoc list. And note what this is doing, it is adding users to the ad hoc list. Right now I have five selected, and of course, as you can see, I can continue to add more into that list.

And so this allows you to really maximize the capability of the system, but being able to utilize filtering as you create these. Right now I’m at 10. I could for example, say, look, I need customer service reps, so I’m going to further filter this list to this end. As I add more names, I am seeing this total change and increase. Okay? And so once I’m ready to add these, I’ll simply click the add selected and all 10 selected users will be added.

Of course, if at any point I want to reset this, all I have to do is hit the reset selection and it zeroes everything out. You can do the same thing in learning paths. If you go to a learning path where you want to for example, assign a learning path to users across your list, just like we did in the courses area, it allows you to do that to select multiple people across the pagination option and build your ad hoc list that you can then use to assign.

Let’s go to the skills area. Before I go to the skills area, and for example, I am looking for this particular skill here, “planning skills”, why not? And I want to add users. Again, as you can see, I am able to select users across the different pages. I’m able to use the custom fields to again, create the exact type of list that I want, for example, to add users to the skill. I’m looking for people in that particular location, and now I can select them and create my ad hoc lists that I can add into the system. So this is very, very useful for you to use in creating courses, in assigning courses, in learning paths, in skills as we have just seen.

There’s also essentially the reverse where you want to take records out, right? So in my user’s area, for example, and let’s say I need to delete a few users here, I’ll basically create my ad hoc list by going through the system and again, selecting the multiple records.

And once I have those records selected, guess what, as you notice right here, I have the delete select users. I’ll be able to click on that, confirm, and then this of course deletes the users that I’ve selected from here. If you were to go to the user groups area, there’s another easy way to utilize this feature. You can go in and add members by again, selecting them across the different pages. And this again, it is a way to make you more efficient. That’s what we want you to have in terms of eLeaP. It is a tool designed to increase your efficiency and get you to the goals and outcomes that you want. And so this is another feature.
