In this tutorial, we’ll explore the notification settings within your course settings area. We’ve previously discussed sections like general, activate, skills, certificates, and continued education. Now, let’s focus on the notification settings. When you click on this section, you’ll find that by default, the system sets notifications to an active state. However, you have the option to deactivate them. This means that when you assign or reassign courses, the system will not send notifications on your behalf. You can toggle this off if needed, but generally, it’s advisable to leave it on. Regarding the non-completion notification, toggle it on to specify email addresses for receiving reports about course non-completions. Note that this feature assumes the existence of a course deadline, as non-completions are identified based on this deadline. If a user hasn’t completed the course by the deadline, a summary is sent to the designated email addresses. To set this up, activate the toggle and enter the email addresses, separated by commas. Once you’re satisfied, click ‘Save Notification Settings’ to confirm. In the notification contact area, you can designate a specific instructor or admin as the contact person for this course. This is useful if, for example, someone else created the course but you want a different individual to handle reports, results, and support queries. Simply select the desired contact from the list or use the search function. After making your selection, again click ‘Save Notification Settings’ to lock in your choice.
