In this quick video we’re going to show you how to manage and add content to specific lessons within your courses. The first I’ll do is navigate to courses at the top of the screen and then I’ll choose the lesson that I’d like to edit. Next, I’ll find the lesson that contains content that I’d like to update and click on the lesson title and I’ll be brought to this page where I can add and manage content in this lesson. Now, the first option I have to upload existing content by clicking the upload file button and then selecting choose file and selecting the file I’d like to use from my file from my computer. Then I can just click upload file and the file will be added to my lesson, but to add original content using the systems content editor, I can either click edit lesson which will take me to the lesson editor, or if I haven’t added any custom content yet I can also click this link click here to add content. Now this brings me to the heart and brain of the eLeaP course content management system. Many will recognize a familiar Microsoft Word or other CMS menu item layout here, and on this page you can insert your text or content anywhere in the content creations space down here. For example, I can enter in some text and then I can hit enter a couple times and I can import content that I’ve created in Microsoft Word for example by clicking this icon and then I can paste content from Word in this window and click insert. You’ll notice that content has been added instantly to my lesson. I can also insert and embed video and image files. If I click this link here, I can insert a video file using this link I can insert and embed a flash video file and using this link here I can choose an image file from my computer. I’ll click choose file, I’ll select the file that I’d like to use. Then if desired I can also set the alignment resolution and border and space properties down here. For now, I’ll just click upload file and then I’ll click insert and you can see because I didn’t change the properties, the full image file has been inserted here. If I’d like to delete the content, I simply need to select it and then hit the delete or backspace key on my keyboard. I’ll go ahead and delete this previous line of text that I’ve pasted in from Word as well. Lastly, the interface affords a lot of flexibility by allowing users to embed HTML content. If there’s a YouTube video that you’d like to embed within your lesson, you can simply navigate to that video and select the share link here, choose the embed option and then I personally don’t like the suggested videos to show after the video finishes so I always deselect this and then copy the embed HTML code from this page. Now if I go back to my lesson content editor, I can click this HTML option here and then paste the embed code below the text that I have. I’ll click update and you can see the video content has been added. I can also use HTML to import other content like something from Google Docs I desired. If I space down after this video briefly, I can navigate to a document from my Google Docs account and then from here I’ll choose file, and then I’ll select publish to the web and then I’ll choose start publishing. From here I can copy the embed code for this document and when I navigate back to the content editor, I can select the HTML icon once again and then I can paste in the embed code for this document below my existing content and I’ll click update. Here you can see that my Google document has been pasted into the content creator using the HTML embed code. Keep in mind that you can resize HTML display content by selecting the HTML icon and then navigating to the line item for the content that you’d like to change. In this example I’m going to expand the width of my Google document display. I’ll select the width number here and I’m going to change this to about 640. I’ll click update, and you can see that the display for my Google document has been expanded. For now, I’ll click save to see the changes. Here you can see the brief text content that I’ve created as well as the YouTube video that I’ve embedded using the HTML interface. If I scroll down, you can also see the Google document that I incorporated and re-sized using the HTML editor portion as well. Keep in mind that you can edit and resize embedded content to make sure that your course looks and feels exactly the way that you would like it to. Also, we want you to know that eLeaP offers free course conversion services from powerpoint or videos to scorm content as well. Keep that in mind when you’re creating and editing your course lessons.
