Everywhere you turn mobile devices are in use. Mobile devices, such as smart phones, laptops and tablets, provide an opportunity to work almost anywhere; however the flexibility can be costly unless the proper ergonomic precautions are in use. The training program “Ergonomics for the Mobile Worker” explains exactly how mobile devices can be used in an ergonomically sound way.

The primary ergonomics focus of the program is maintaining a neutral body position as often as possible whether work is being performed in or out of the office. Keeping the body in “neutral” places the least amount of stress and strain on muscles and joints. The neutral position is examined in regard to posture, environment and equipment use.

Learners depart from training ready to use what they have learned to immediately interact with their work environments as “neutrally” as possible. Using ergonomic principles when using mobile devices may prevent long-term joint and muscle conditions.
