According to studies, 90% of top performers have a high EQ, meaning Emotional Quotient or, more simply, emotional intelligence. EQ is also responsible for 58% of one’s job performance, meaning the majority of your success is dependent upon your ability to effectively interact with others. Leaders who display high EQ will have increased leadership ability, increased team performance, decreased occupational stress, and reduced staff turnover, among others. This course explains how, as a leader, you can build your own emotional intelligence.

This course focuses on exploring the four components of EQ; self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. These components are highly interrelated and shape how you respond in emotional situations. For example, effective leaders need to know how to view a situation objectively (social awareness) as well as how to keep their emotions from dictating their behavior (self-management). Using the four components, this course demonstrates some techniques for developing one’s own emotional intelligence.

Without a high EQ, you cannot be an effective leader. Your team will suffer, as will your company as a whole. Utilize the information in this training lesson and learn how, and why, you should increase your emotional intelligence.
