DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections
For commercial truck drivers there are unique requirements, expectations, and regulations for the safe operation of the vehicle in question through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires motor carriers to implement a program for inspection and maintenance of all their vehicles regardless of fleet size. The course seeks to provide guidance to drivers and their supervisors covering FMCSA regulations and the various types of inspections. After reviewing FMCSA regulations, this course demonstrates different types of inspections, including pre-trip, en route, roadside and post-trip inspections.
