Lock and Tag: Lockout/Tagout

Lockout/tag-out procedures are required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to prevent electrical accidents from occurring at commercial and industrial work sites. These laws protect individuals that set up, maintain, or repair machinery. OSHA estimates following these regulations saves at least 100 lives and prevents 60, 000 injuries each year.
